Who we are
JATA Extension Intelligence is operated by the Jigawa Agricultural Transformation Agency (JATA) to support extension advisers and farmers across Jigawa State, Nigeria.
What we collect and why
Farmer identity, phone number, and farm records (location, crops, visit history) are read from JCollect, JATA's farmer-enrollment system — this app does not collect them directly and does not keep its own copy of national identity numbers (NIN) or bank verification numbers (BVN). Extension advisers use this to plan visits and follow up on cases. When you registered with JATA, your farm details (where your farm is, your crops and when you planted them) were collected so that JATA can support you. The AI Adviser uses those registration details to give advice that fits your farm and the weather there, unless you opt out. It uses records from adviser visits (open cases and pending advisories) only if you separately consent. Your name is never sent to the AI service. The AI service is run by a third party (Google), so the questions you ask and the farm details used to answer them are processed by that provider. If you opt out, the AI answers from general guidance only.
Who sees your data
Only the extension adviser JCollect assigned to you, and JATA management for state-wide reporting. Advisers cannot see farmers assigned to other advisers.
Automated advice
The AI Adviser gives agricultural guidance, not decisions with legal or similar effect on you. It never determines eligibility for a loan, subsidy, or programme. If it cannot answer confidently, an extension adviser — a person — takes over.
Your rights
You may ask to see, correct, or delete the data this app holds about you, or opt out of the AI Adviser using your farm records, at any time. You can switch it off yourself in the chat, or speak to your extension adviser, or contact JATA directly.
How long we keep it
Farm and case records are kept for as long as you're an active JCollect-enrolled farmer. AI Adviser conversation history is kept for a limited period and then automatically removed.
